Written Answers. - Operational Matador.
The operation of the Border controls which were introduced following the entry into force of the EU ban on exports from the United Kingdom of live cattle and products containing material of bovine origin has been kept under constant review since their introduction last March. Close contact has been maintained between my Department, the Department of Justice and the Garda and Customs authorities to ensure that the controls are fully effective. Any operational changes made to the Border controls take place in the light of that review.
