39 Mr. Briscoe asked the Minister for the Environment the reason the information as set out in his reply to Question No. 352 of Wednesday, 25 September 1996, was not available in his reply to Question No. 374 of 25 July 1996 which was tabled by Deputy Mary Wallace in view of the fact that the information is based on figures at 30 June 1996; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The information given in reply to Question No. 352 of 25 September 1996 was compiled on the basis of returns received from local authorities in respect of the quarter ended 30 June 1996. A significant number of these returns had not been received in the Department when the reply to the earlier question was being prepared.
