Ceist:

Brendan Kenneally

Ceist:

150 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the cost to the Exchequer in each of the years 1995 and 1996 of the part-time job opportunities programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18178/96]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 149 and 150 together.

The part-time jobs opportunities programme is a pilot programme and as such any decision regarding its future cannot be taken until an evaluation has taken place following completion of the pilot period.

The cost of the programme in 1995 was £5,907,649 and in 1996 the cost to the end of September has been £4,865,826.
