Ceist:142 Mr. Collins asked the Minister for Finance the amount of Structural and Cohesion Funds allocated and taken up in each of the eight sub-regions from January 1994 to date. [18355/96]
Written Answers. - Structural and Cohesion Funds.
I assume the Deputy is referring to EU Structural and Cohesion Funds. The Structural Funds are implemented under national sectoral operational programmes while the Cohesion Fund is project based; allocations are not, therefore, made on a regional basis. However, the regional breakdown of this type of expenditure is compiled on the basis of forecasts and outturns. The following table shows the data available to date to my Department on EU Structural and Cohesion Funds expenditure in the regions.

Expenditure in respect of the maritime initiative is not available on a regional basis. The overall outturn for 1995 is £3.24 million and the overall forecast for 1996 is £13.7 million.
