172 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if he will set a timetable for the introduction of amending legislation to the Wildlife Act to protect peatland sites, natural heritage areas, which is outstanding since 1990. [18251/96]

A Bill to amend the 1976 Wildlife Act is at an advanced stage of preparation and I hope to be in a position to introduce it in the Oireachtas towards the end of the year.
