I propose to answer Questions Nos. 43 and 113 together.
Circuit Court No. 24, which was formerly Circuit Court No. 14, situated at Chancery Place, Dublin 7, is used at present for jury call-over and will continue to be used for this purpose for the present.
I accept that other than as a necessary temporary arrangement, this court is not considered suitable as a jury call-over court and I wish to confirm that it is my intention that the new courtroom in the Public Records Building will be used for jury call-over. However, with the recent appointment of additional judges it has been necessary, in the short-term, to utilise the court facilities available in the Public Records Building for purposes other than that originally envisaged. The large lobby area of the courtroom in the building has been converted, on a temporary basis, into an additional courtroom for use as a Circuit Family Law Court. The main courtroom in the Public Records Office has been in use since 16 September 1996 for the hearing of Circuit Court civil business.
