132 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs whether the road at Cannings Lane/Coney Road, Kilderry, Muff, County Donegal was closed after its reopening on 7 May 1996; and the current position in relation to the road on the northern side of the Border. [18497/96]

I refer the Deputy to my replies to her previous written questions of 21 May 1996 and 8 October 1996 with regard to the reopening of the section of Cannings Lane/Coney Road, Kilderry, Muff, County Donegal which lies in Northern Ireland.

On my instructions, this matter is currently being raised again with the British authorities through the Anglo-Irish secretariat. I undertake to reply to the Deputy directly when the results of this inquiry are forthcoming.
