Ceist:173 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Education whether Arva No. 1 national school is included in her Department's 1996 building programme; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [19847/96]
Written Answers. - Arva (Cavan) National School.
The building project at Arva No. 1 national school is included in my Department's 1995 capital programme. The inclusion of this school in the programme enables the project to progress through the various planning stages to construction.
The current position is that the school authorities were advised to seek planning permission in respect of outline sketch approved by my Department. Upon receipt of planning permission and fire certificates, contract documentation will be prepared to facilitate tendering. I will then be in a position to consider authorising the project to proceed to tender in light of funding available and competing priorities.
