Vol. 470 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Ellis

Ceist:

255 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of applications received under the farm development building section for 1996; the number of grants paid out to date; and the number of grants which will be paid out between now and the end of 1996. [19978/96]

To date in 1996, just over 4,000 applications have been received under the various farm development schemes and approximately 7,000 have been paid grant aid.

The payment of grant aid is dependent on applications completing work to the Department's specifications and submitting the appropriate documentation. It is not possible at this stage to provide an accurate estimate of the number of additional grant payments likely to be made before the end of December but I expect the position to be clearer by mid-November.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Ceist:

256 Mrs. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if a second payment under the REP scheme will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry, due to the fact that he is under financial pressure. [20034/96]

The person concerned has not yet lodged an application for a second year payment under the REP scheme.
