6 Mr. Callely asked the Taoiseach the total cost of non-civil or public service staff attached to his office in 1995; the anticipated costs in 1996; and if he will give the comparative figures for each of the years 1987 and 1988. [19922/96]
The cost of non-civil or public service staff attached to my office, both private and constituency, for the year 1995 was £223,000. The estimated cost for 1996 is £252,000. The number of people is seven in both cases. Comparative figures for 1987 and 1988 are £145,000 and £177,000 respectively. The number of people then was eight in 1987 and nine in 1988.
