126 Mr. Power asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the urgent need for extra accommodation at Holy Family Secondary School, Newbridge, County Kildare; and when construction will commence in this regard. [20518/96]
An extension of 1,690 square metres has been approved for Holy Family Secondary School, Newbridge, County Kildare.
Architectural planning is currently proceeding and the stage two (outline sketch scheme) documentation is being examined by my Department's technical staff. When the outline sketch scheme has been approved the school authorities will be advised to proceed to the developed sketch scheme (Stage three).
Every effort is being made to have the planning of this extension progressed as quickly as possible.
The question of commencing construction can only be considered when the planning process has been completed.
