Vol. 471 No. 7

Written Answers. - Cork Projects Funding.

Dan Wallace

Ceist:

203 Mr. D. Wallace asked the Minister for the Environment the total value of support during 1995 from his Department for projects in Cork county and city; if he will identify each such project; the level of funding allocated in respect of each such project during 1995; and if he will break down each value into Exchequer and EU sub-components. [21552/96]

The information sought is not readily available in the format requested and its compilation would involve a disproportionate amount of time and work. The following table gives details of 1995 expenditure by my Department for programmes and services in the administrative areas of Cork city and county. In addition, expenditure on new house grants, house improvement grants and thatching grants in 1995 totalled £2.88 million for the combined Cork city and county area.

In 1995, roads, water and waste water services, and urban and village renewal were the main programmes in respect of which expenditure by my Department attracted EU aid — normally at aid rates between 50 per cent and 85 per cent.
