Vol. 471 No. 7

Written Answers. - Sandyford Environmental Planning Group.

Seamus Brennan

Ceist:

204 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for the Environment if he will meet with committee members of the Sandyford Environmental Planning and Road Safety Group accompanied by representatives from Dáil Éireann for Dublin South, as first requested in September 1996 and further to his reply to a Parliamentary Question No. 349 of 25 September 1996 from Deputy Brennan, when he indicated that he would respond as soon as possible; his views on whether a period of two months should be sufficient time to consider the request for a meeting; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22217/96]

I replied, between 26 September and 24 October, to three separate letters from Dáil Deputies requesting me to meet this group. The replies indicated that such a meeting would not be appropriate in view of the arrangements made for a meeting between the group and the manager of the local authority which is responsible for the halting site proposal which gave rise to the representations. A letter from the group itself was received in my office on 1 November and a reply issued yesterday.
