Vol. 471 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Wexford Schools.

John Browne

Ceist:

270 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for Education when work will commence on the proposed new extension to Kilmuckridge national primary school, County Wexford. [21862/96]

At this stage of the project, I cannot give a realistic timescale for works to commence on site. A grant was sanctioned by my Department in July 1996 for the provision of an extra classroom and ancillary accommodation at this school. This project is currently at the detailed design stage, which involves planning permission and completion of detailed working drawings.

Ceist:

271 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for Education if she will approve an additional classroom for St. Margaret's national school, Curracloe, County Wexford, in view of the increasing number of children attending this school over recent years. [21863/96]

My Department has examined the accommodation situation at St. Margaret's national school and has determined an accommodation brief of one additional classroom. However, due to the current level of contractual commitments on the primary school capital programme, I am not in a position to approve an additional classroom for this school at present.
