272 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Education whether it is intended to provide funding in 1996 under the Major Sports Facilities Programme towards the planned swimming, health and fitness centre development at Renmore, County Galway; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [21864/96]
Grants have recently been allocated under the major facilities scheme and all available funds are now committed to these projects.
The question of providing grant assistance for the swimming pool project in Renmore, County Galway will be considered in the event of funding being provided for the scheme in 1997 and having regard to the many other applicants seeking grant assistance.
