Vol. 471 No. 7

Written Answers. - Performance-Related Bonuses.

Tony Killeen

Ceist:

368 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment whether he has approved performance-related bonuses for chief executives and other officers of semi-State bodies under the aegis of his Department. [21703/96]

Report No. 35 of the Review Body on Higher Remuneration in the Public Sector provides for schemes of performance-related pay in respect of chief executives in certain State bodies in categories (i) and (ii). I have approved the application of such schemes to chief executives in the following State Bodies, all of which are listed in category (ii) — Forfás, Forbairt, IDA Ireland, Shannon Free Airport Development Company Limited and FÁS.

Report 35 also provides for the application to Assistant Secretaries in the Civil Service of a scheme of bonus payments. As regards the application of such a scheme to equivalent grades in State bodies under the aegis of my Department, I have approved its application to the grade of Executive Director in Forfás, Forbairt and IDA Ireland.
