Vol. 472 No. 1

Written Answers. - Loughshinny (Dublin) Fort.

Ceist:

170 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if he will report on the deteriorating conditions of the Drumonnach promontory fort archaeological site at Loughshinny, County Dublin; and the steps, if any, he proposes to take to maintain and reconstruct this site. [22704/96]

Legal protection has been afforded to Drumonnach promontory fort under the National Monuments Acts, 1930 to 1994 and regular inspections have been carried out to ensure compliance with the Preservation Order, which is in force on the site. Having regard to the fact that these lands are in private ownership, my Department has no plans to carry out works there.
