Ahearn asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the proposals, if any, he has in relation to the IARWE scheme (details supplied); if this scheme will be allowed to continue; if he will give details of the future of the programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The part-time job opportunities programme is a three year pilot programme which will come to an end in June 1997. Funding will be made available in 1997 which will allow for the pilot programme to be completed.
An evaluation of the pilot programme which is currently under way will be completed by February 1997, and any decision on its future cannot be taken until this evaluation has been completed.
