Vol. 472 No. 2

Written Answers. - Physiotherapists' Salary.

Ivor Callely

Ceist:

111 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Health his views on whether chartered physiotherapists are in receipt of a salary which would be comparable to the salaries of other health care professionals of similar qualifications; if he will review salary scales of physiotherapists; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22913/96]

Limerick East): The talks between my Department and IMPACT, on behalf of Physiotherapists, are complex. However, direct negotiations are ongoing under the auspices of the Health Service Employers' Agency, with a view to arriving at a mutually satisfactory conclusion as soon as possible. In these circumstances, any further comment on my part would not be appropriate or helpful.
