125 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for the Environment when contract documents will be approved for the library in Cootehill, County Cavan; when tenders will be sought in respect of this project; when construction work will commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22918/96]
I gave approval in principle on 24 April 1996 to Cavan County Council's proposal for a new branch library at Cootehill. Sketch design and cost plan proposals have since been received in my Department and are being considered. However, having regard to the high level of demand for funding for library proposals generally, I cannot say when it may be possible to advance the Cootehill proposal.
