Vol. 472 No. 6

Written Answers. - Court Accommodation.

John Browne

Ceist:

171 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for Justice the plans, if any, she has to make funds available through her Department to Wexford County Council for the provision of proper court facilities in Wexford town in view of the current overcrowding and lack of space in the court. [23825/96]

I can inform the Deputy that discussions have taken place between my Department and Wexford County Council to provide additional court facilities in Wexford town. Arising out of these discussions, my Department is awaiting firm proposals from Wexford County Council. When the county council's proposals have been received and agreed, the question of allocating funding to the project will be addressed.
