Vol. 472 No. 6

Written Answers. - Traffic Calming Measures.

Seamus Kirk

Ceist:

91 Mr. Kirk asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give details of the regulatory position regarding the installation of ramps for traffic calming measures on bus routes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23649/96]

Under section 38 of the Road Traffic Act, 1994, road authorities are empowered to provide such traffic calming measures, including ramps, as they consider desirable in respect of public roads in their charge. The consent of the National Roads Authority is required before such measures are provided on, or removed from, a national road.
