212 Kathleen Lynch asked the Minister for Education the progress, if any, which has been made to replace or repair substandard national schools at Wood Road, Ardara and Leabgarrow, Aphort, Aranmore Islands, County Donegal; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [24284/96]
The question of replacing or refurbishing the national school at Wood Road, Ardara is under consideration within my Department. A decision on the matter will be conveyed to the school authorities as soon as possible. I included a refurbishment project for Leabgarrow national school, Arranmore Island, in my Department's 1996 list of primary school projects for planning. The architectural planning for this project is now well advanced. When the contract documentation is finalised, a decision on the timing of the tender process will be taken in light of available funds. My Department has no plans for improvement works at Aphort national school, Arranmore.
