263 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Education the current position regarding the provision of new accommodation for schools (details supplied) in County Cavan; the level of accommodation which will be provided in this new building; the current stage of planning of this project; when tenders will be sought; when construction work will commence; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The project to which the Deputy refers has been included on my Department's 1996 list of primary schools for planning. The accommodation brief for the project includes the provision of three classrooms plus the requisite ancillary accommodation.

The project is at the early planning stages and it is not possible at this time to give a realistic timeframe for the tender and contract stage.
