Vol. 473 No. 1

Written Answers. - National Lottery Funding.

Ivor Callely

Ceist:

286 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Social Welfare the total amount of national lottery moneys received to date by his Department; if he will give details of the allocation of such moneys to projects; if there are any commitments in regard to future disbursement of such funds. [24475/96]

Table 1 sets out the amount of lottery funding disbursed by my Department under the various grants of support for voluntary and community organisations for each of the years 1988 to 1995 and the allocation for 1996. Table 2 sets out the funding paid to individual projects to date in 1996 from national lottery funds. For sake of completeness, I have also given details of the allocations for the grant schemes that were not lottery funded in the years in question in that table.

The lottery funds allocated to my Department have been used over the years to fund a number of schemes of grants and other supports to voluntary and community organisations. Details of all grants paid since 1990 are in the Oireachtas Library for the information of members.

Payments to projects participating in the Community Development and Islands Development Programme are made on a quarterly basis and depend on continued progress on the implementation of the agreed workplan and receipt of accounts and returns for payments previously issued.
