304 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be paid his 1996 cattle and sheep headage premia in view of the fact that the delay is causing financial hardship. [24277/96]

Applications under the 1996 cattle headage, sheep headage and suckler cow premium scheme are being processed and, provided everything is in order, payment should issue shortly.

Michael Creed

Ceist:

310 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid his income supplement due to herd depopulation. [24317/96]

The herdowner in question agreed to the full depopulation of his herd after reactors were disclosed at a herd test in July, 1995. All appropriate reactor and depopulation grants in respect of that breakdown have been paid.

It is understood that a number of reactors have been recently disclosed in the herd of the herdowner in question. Subject to receipt of all the required documentation by the district veterinary office and the herdowner meeting all the requirements under the TB eradication scheme the appropriate reactor grants and, if applicable, income supplement payments can be processed in due course.

Herdowners who wish to claim headage payments and premium payments in excess of 15 livestock units or wish to benefit from the extensification premium must submit a valid area aid form. In this case the herdowner submitted an area aid form which was selected for an on-farm inspection. I understand that this inspection has been carried out. Once the file has been returned to the area aid unit the application can be processed further.
