Vol. 473 No. 5

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Austin Deasy

Ceist:

28 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education the moneys, if any, being provided in the current year for the provision of a permanent extension to St. Declan's community college, Kilmacthomas, County Waterford; and if so, when work will commence. [1329/97]

The proposed extension to Kilmacthomas Community College is at an early stage of architectural planning and therefore it is not possible to say when construction will commence. Accordingly, the question of financial provision does not arise at this time.

I am aware of the need for the extension at this school and every effort is being made to progress the architectural planning of this project.

When planning has been completed, a decision will be taken on the invitation of tenders in the light of available resources at that time.

Tony Gregory

Ceist:

32 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education when a decision will be made to provide extended toilet facilities and extra accommodation, applied for in October 1994, at Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál, Inchicore, Dublin 8, where the existing toilets have not changed since 1936. [1609/97]

An architect from my Department will visit the school shortly to report on these matters. The board of management has been advised accordingly. On receipt of the report, my Department will be in touch with the school management.
