87 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Finance if he will request the Revenue Commissioners to review the case of a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath who seeks a tax refund on a bequest under the terms of the favourite niece clause. [1928/97]
I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the question of whether or not the person is entitled to favourite niece relief in respect of the bequest she received from her late uncle is still under examination. Enquiries were issued to the person's agent on the 1 October 1996. When a reply has been received, the matter will be given prompt attention.
