112 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Education when the school transport service for primary schools was last reviewed; if she will be reviewing this service in 1997 in view of the decrease in school numbers; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1330/97]
The school transport service is currently under review by a school transport review committee which was established last year. I expect to receive that committee's report in the near future.
The effect of declining enrolments on school transport was one of the issues specifically mentioned in the committee's terms of reference, and will be dealt with in their report.
