Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.
The recommendations of my Department's planning section are now being considered and a decision on how the accommodation difficulties at the school can be addressed will be conveyed to the school management shortly.
Matt Brennan
Ceist:116 Mr. M. Brennan asked the Minister for Education when she will provide the necessary funding for the provision of an extension to the Ursuline College secondary school, St. Joseph's, Sligo. [1853/97]
The project at the Ursuline College, Sligo is currently at stage II, outline sketch scheme of architectural planning. Numerous difficulties have arisen with the project since the initiation of the planning process. Officials from my Department's building unit have visited the school recently and met with the school authority to advise them of the Department's requirements, in order that the project may proceed smoothly.
Following that visit a revised stage II submission has been received in the building unit but a number of issues still need to be resolved before approval can be given to proceed to the next stage of planning. The question of proceeding to construction does not arise until the architectural planning process of the project has been successfully completed.

Ceist:117 Mr. N. Treacy asked the Minister for Education the date on which she will sanction a project (details supplied) in County Galway; the amount of money being allocated for this project; the date on which construction will commence; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1854/97]
Officials from my Department's building unit have carried out a preliminary examination of the school in question. My Department is in contact with County Galway Vocational Education Committee regarding the matter and is awaiting detailed proposals in relation to the school.
