Ceist:36 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if he intends to consult with the social partners in relation to any of the 11 upcoming Bills in his portfolio. [3838/97]

Under the current legislative programme, there are ten Bills for which my Department has responsibility. In this regard, I would refer the Deputy to appendix C of the press release containing the Government's legislative programme which was issued by the Government Whip on 21 January 1997. I can assure the Deputy that interested parties will be consulted, where necessary, to elicit their views on the proposed legislation for which my Department has responsibility.
For the record the ten Bills are as follows: 1. Road Transport Bill — To amend and update aspects of the Road Transport Acts, 1933-86 which apply to the road haulage sector; 2. Air Navigation and Transport Bill — To provide for transfer of Exchequer funded assets at Dublin, Shannon and Cork Airports to Aer Rianta, and for setting up Aer Rianta as a statutory authority; 3. Turf Development Bill — To provide for equity injection into Bord na Móna and related matters; 4. Electricity Bill — To give effect to restructured electricity industry; 5. Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road Bill — To give effect in Irish law to International Agreement and EU Directive; 6. International Carriage by Rail Bill — To give effect to the COTIF Convention; 7. Broadcasting (Wireless Telegraphy) (Consolidated) Bill — To consolidate all Wireless Telegraphy Acts since the foundation of the State; 8. Telecommunications Bill — To provide for a general reform of telecommunications legislation for a liberalised market; 9. Utilities Regulatory Commission Bill — To establish a Regulatory Commission which will be responsible for independent regulation of the energy, telecommunications and transport sectors; 10. Minerals Development Bill — To implement the report of the National Minerals Policy Review Group.
