85 Mr. M. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment if he will provide the funding necessary to improve the water supply in the south-eastern end of the town of Midleton, County Cork in view of the fact that the need for upgrading is great due to increased housing demand and that lack of improvement is stunting the growth of the area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Contract documents for the Cobh-Midleton-Car-rigtwohill water scheme, which provides for the improvement of the water supply in the area in question, have been submitted to my Department. However, given the high level of commitments under the water and sewerage programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve them.
