Ceist:223 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Education if she will allocate an ex-quota remedial teacher to County Clare vocational education committee for Kilmichil, Ennistymon and Kildysart schools. [4470/97]
Written Answers. - Teacher Appointments.
In accordance with the commitments in the Government of Renewal, I approved the appointment of additional ex-quota remedial teachers in postprimary schools with effect from the beginning of the 1995-6 school year. The posts were allocated on the basis of priority of need and existing provision and having regard to the recommendations of my Department's psychological service.
I regret that it was not possible to allocate posts to either Kilmichill, Ennistymon or Kildysart schools on that occasion. The position of these schools will, however, be considered when next it is possible to allocate additionalex quota remedial posts.
