Vol. 475 No. 2

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Seán Doherty

Ceist:

92 Mr. Doherty asked the Minister for Education if she will meet with a deputation comprising members of the management board and parents group representing Cloontuskert national school, Lanesboro, County Roscommon, in view of the critical situation that exists there due to the condition of the building and a likely withdrawal of children. [4579/97]

I regret to inform the Deputy that, as my diary is fully booked for the foreseeable future, I am unable to arrange to meet with a deputation representing Cloontuskert national school, Lanesboro, County Roscommon. The position regarding the proposed new school is that Cloontuskert is one of a number of urgent projects I am considering for a phased release to tender later in the year. The Deputy can be assured of my desire to see the new school constructed at Cloontuskert at the earliest opportunity.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

93 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Education when the tendering process will take place for the amalgamated buildings (details supplied) in County Limerick; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4580/97]

A building project to facilitiate the amalgamation of the schools referred to by the Deputy is one of a number of urgent projects I am considering for a phased release to tender later in the year. When a decision is reached, it will be conveyed to the school management.
