Vol. 476 No. 3

Written Answers. - Motor Fuel Prices.

Noel Dempsey

Ceist:

142 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if he will request petrol companies not to discriminate against small and rural villages by imposing a premium on top of the normal price for petrol and diesel in petrol outlets in these areas. [6961/97]

There is now no maximum price for petrol since the abolition of price control on motor fuels some years ago. If however, there is any evidence that petrol companies are not complying with the Competition Acts, it is open to those aggrieved to make a complaint to the Director of Competition Enforcement.
