Limerick East): The most recent statistics in relation to the information sought by the Deputy is contained in the reply to Question No. 104 of Tuesday 28 January 1997. The Government remains committed to reducing waiting times for surgery and a total of £8 million has been made available by the Government this year for this purpose. This brings to £58 million the total funding committed to the reduction of waiting lists since 1993.
