81 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Environment if he will have investigations made into the delay in having a motor tax book returned to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the book was forwarded to Shannon on 7 January 1997. I have investigated this matter. I understand that the notification of change of ownership on the vehicle licensing certificate was received in my Department's office in Shannon on 16 January 1997 but, due to an error in processing the notification, the relevant computer record was not correctly updated. This matter was subsequently rectified and a vehicle licensing certificate issued to the new owner on 3 March 1997. I regret the delay in the matter and any inconvenience caused to the motorist concerned.
