I have been informed by the Garda authorities that the domestic violence and sexual assault investigation unit located at DMA Headquarters in Harcourt Square now comes under the umbrella of the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and has therefore, a national responsibility. At present there are no proposals to have similar units located elsewhere. However, the matter will be kept under review.
