Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Molloy — the use of inferior UK reinforced steel which is being dumped on the Irish market and is being used extensively in farm buildings grant aided by the Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry; (2) Deputy Michael Ahern — the crisis in the school orthodontic programme in the Cork region due to a severe shortage of orthodontic staff; (3) Deputy O'Donnell — the circumstances whereby a woman infected with hepatitis C was contacted to donate blood by the Blood Transfusion Services Board in December 1996; (4) Deputy Callely — the need to extend the recently announced package of incentives for job creation outside the Dublin area to Dublin and, in particular, to areas of high unemployment within Dublin; (5) Deputy Seán Ryan — the effects of the phasing out of duty free facilities in 1999 and the need for the Government to reactivate this issue within the EU; (6) Deputy Quill — the reason gardaí are precluded from using the device known as a "stinger" against joyriders, which is designed to stop speeding cars; (7) Deputy Ó Cuív — the urgent need to allocate funding towards the refurbishment and extension of Colinamuck School, Colinamuck, Roscahaill, County Galway; (8) Deputy Lynch — the urgent need to allow gardaí to use special road spikes against vehicles being driven by joyriders; (9) Deputy Lawlor — whether the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht intends to approve the holding of a rock concert in the Phoenix Park with a potential attendance of 40,000 people and with an estimated 10,000 cars accessing the Ashtown gate in view of the concerns of residents of Castleknock, the consequent noise pollution and other negative environmental effects and in the total absence of liability in respect of damage done to residents' properties in the pre or post-concert pedestrian or other traffic movements.

The matters raised by Deputies Lawlor, Quill, Callely and Molloy have been selected for discussion.
