Ceist:220 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if payment for a brucellosis top-up grant based on milk produced in 1996 will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [8551/97]

Brucellosis reactors were disclosed in the herd of the herdowner referred to by the Deputy on an ongoing basis from May 1996 leading to depopulation of his herd in mid-October 1996. Under current grant arrangements the appropriate year of milk production for calculating the notional herd average milk yield is the year previous to the herd breakdown which is 1995. The herd owner has already been paid the appropriate amount of reactor and depopulation grants due to him under the current grant arrangements.
