61 Mr. Davern asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry whether the commitment given by his Minister of State to hold a major conference on organic farming in Spring 1997 will be honoured; and if so, the date and venue for such a conference. [8423/97]

An Organic Farming Symposium is scheduled to take place in Portlaoise on 25 April 1997. The programme for the symposium is being finalised at present.
