Vol. 477 No. 2

Written Answers - Schools Building Projects.

Ray Burke

Ceist:

192 Mr. R. Burke asked the Minister for Education if she will sanction the urgently required extension to John Paul national school, Malahide, County Dublin, including classrooms, library and ancillary facilities. [9075/97]

My Department has recently sanctioned the provision of two prefabricated classrooms to solve the immediate accommodation needs of Pope John Paul II national school, Malahide, County Dublin.

The question of providing additional accommodation will be kept under review in my Department with the possibility of a permanent extension being considered in the light of future capital allocations.

Ray Burke

Ceist:

193 Mr. R. Burke asked the Minister for Education if she will provide semi-permanent classrooms by September 1997 to meet the urgent accommodation needs of the children attending St. Patrick's national school, Portrane-Donabate, County Dublin; if her attention has been drawn to the total unsuitability of portacabin accommodation; and if she will sanction the construction of a permanent extension to the school to meet the requirements of this developing area. [9076/97]

My Department is aware of the additional accommodation required at St. Patrick's national school, Donabate, County Dublin. Officials of my Department have arranged to meet the school authorities to discuss this matter further.
