283 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be paid under the REP scheme in view of the fact that she applied some time ago and the delay is causing financial hardship. [8878/97]
Under the REP scheme a random 5 per cent pre-payment check of applications is carried out. This check involves a detailed assessment of all aspects of the plan and includes an on-farm inspection. The applicant's plan has gone for such a check and an inspection will be carried out shortly. Assuming that everything is in order payment will issue as soon as possible thereafter.
