Vol. 477 No. 2

Written Answers - Grant Applications.

Ned O'Keeffe

Ceist:

293 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the current position regarding an application by persons (details supplied) in County Cork for a 1995 suckler cow premium which was refused and subsequently appealed; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the animals were correctly entered on the application form; and if his attention has further been drawn to the fact that the animal which his Department states was an incorrect breed is in fact a Freisian heifer crossed with a three-quarter bred Simmental bull. [9067/97]

The appeal in this case was concluded on 13 November 1996 and the herd owner was advised that the appeal was unsuccessful. The appeals unit wrote to the herd owner on 13 November 1996 giving the reasons for its decision. Department records show that this letter was copied to the Deputy on 15 November 1996. I have arranged for another copy of this letter to be sent to the Deputy.
