Vol. 477 No. 3

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits.

Noel Treacy

Ceist:

137 Mr. N. Treacy asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will ensure that people debarred from qualifying for a contributory pension due to the fact that they were over 56 years of age when the PRSI scheme was introduced in 1988 will be given a contributory pension commensurate with the amount of stamps which they have accumulated since then; the date on which this will be done; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9271/97]

The information requested by the Deputy is contained in my reply to question No. 247 on 8 April 1997.
