150 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for the Environment the allocation of funding, if any, which has been made to provide for the demolition of Rahoon Flats in Galway city and their replacement by alternative housing; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9619/97]
An allocation of 60 "starts" in 1997 and the associated capital funding will be available for the commencement of the redevelopment of Rahoon Park. It is envisaged that further increments of "starts" and funding will be authorised in 1998 and 1999 to enable completion of the project. These allocations are additional to the normal annual housing programme authorised for Galway Corporation.
151 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for the Environment when a decision will be made on an application by Galway County Council for permission to exceed the guidelines in relation to the scheme of repairs in lieu of local authority housing for a person (details supplied) in County Galway. [9620/97]
Approval has issued to Galway County Council in this case.
