152 Mr. Flood asked the Minister for the Environment the action, if any, he proposes to take to assist the residents of Tymon Bawn and Aylesbury, who have requested that the Firhouse road extension and its connection to the Tallaght by-pass be re-routed to a proposed alternative route as was explained to him at the public meeting which he attended in the Tymon Bawn community centre, Tallaght, Dublin 24, on Wednesday 26 March 1997; and if he will make a statement on the matter. While statutory responsibility for the planning, design and construction of non-national roads in their area including route selection is a matter for South Dublin County Council, I undertook at the meeting with residents on 26 March to have their strong views brought to the attention of the council; I have already arranged to have this done.
