Vol. 477 No. 5

Written Answers. - Orthodontic Service.

Liam Aylward

Ceist:

102 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Health if he will direct the South-Eastern Health Board to have orthodontic treatment approved for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny in view of the fact that such treatment should have been afforded to her during her school years and that she is now 18 years of age and in receipt of unemployment assistance and therefore cannot afford the cost of private treatment which is so urgently needed. [9645/97]

, Limerick East): As the provision of orthodontic treatment to eligible persons in County Kilkenny is the statutory responsibility of the South-Eastern Health Board I have asked the chief executive officer of the South-Eastern Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
