51 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the total number of family butchers registered under the Abattoirs Act, 1988; the number per county; the number whose premises are up to standard; and the number who have not yet been approved under the terms of the Act. [10749/97]

The total number of registered licensed premises under the Abattoirs Act is 372. The number per county is as follows:
