Vol. 478 No. 2

Written Answers. - Schools Refurbishment.

Joe Walsh

Ceist:

96 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Education the plans, if any, she has to have essential work carried out to a school (details supplied) in County Cork. [10817/97]

The application for works requested at the school referred to by the Deputy is currently being considered within my Department.

A decision will be conveyed to the school as quickly as possible.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

97 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education whether a personal computer will be provided for a child (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that he has serious learning difficulties and a computer would benefit his educational development enormously. [10818/97]

My Department operates a scheme for the provision of grants for second level schools towards the purchase of equipment, including computers, for the use of pupils with certain disabilities. Under the terms of the scheme, application is made by the school in respect of an individual pupil. My Department has not received an application under this scheme in respect of the pupil in question.
